The Dropstitch inlay for the scubi 2XL 

A Dropstitch construction describes a material in which, to put it simply, two layers are linked with vertical connecting fibers and these are inflated with high pressure. The material becomes very hard and stiff, but can still be folded up compactly when not inflated.

Standard materials are 50 or 70 mm thick. Nortik works with a special construction with a thickness of 30 mm, as our Dropstitch inlay must also follow the shape of the hull.

Using a special technique, Nortik achieves a symbiosis of two mutually exclusive things: A Drop-stitch floor that runs in a keel shape. The highlight is that you can have a hard and robust floor in your scubi XL if you need it.

The Dropstitch inlayfor the scubi XL series offers various advantages: 

- additional stiffening in the longitudinal and transverse direction

- more load options due to increased buoyancy

- better insulation against cold water

- "dry feet" when paddling without a cover, as splash water collects under the shelf
